A fond adieu to my first draft
I’ve just finished the first draft of my novella after five months of graft and toil. I had almost forgotten what it was like to switch off the computer and interact with the world again without the words on the page calling me back.
So, what now?
Well, there’s always the first of the many rewrites, I guess. But, hey, that can wait. Generally, I prefer to leave the manuscript to gather dust for a few days so I can return for each rewrite with a fresh perspective.
Work in progress
I’ve begun writing a trilogy of short screenplays for TV which I’m really excited about. The thread of the running theme has been circulating in my mind for some time. Also, I have an idea for a literary essay with a twist – keep an eye on this blog for further updates.
